JOB TITLE: Programme Manager
REPORTS TO: Managing Director
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To design and implement a project programme which comprised of various existing and future projects in a prioritized format as to deliver a strategic project roadmap for Foodbank South Africa. To work closely with the head of departments and consult on strategic project plans
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Key elements of the job)
• Consulting, planning & designing
o To design and compile project plans per department
o To implement a national project programme
• Project management
o Manage the delivery of the required project
o To report on progress and key milestones and task alerts.
o To coordinate various project tasks in accordance with Foodbank core strategies
o Direct and motivate project team
o To coordinate resources and budget constraints
o Manage the project risks, including the development of contingency plans.
o Interview head of departments and construct a project plan
o Define specific project outcomes and provide assistance in analyzing pre and post project implementation
o Neutrally facilitate project meetings and chair project meetings as required Plan and organize staff teams for multiple projects
o Ensure that overall project plan is in conjunction with the strategic project plan for FBSA
o Assist the managing director in terms of:
Programme progress as per timeline and budget
Planning and scheduling future projects
• Programme Management
o Schedule projects as per agreed priority
- Proactively report and manage clashes between resources and tasks
- Regularly monitoring all aspects of the project
o
o Frequently consult with resources on task progression
• Reporting & Communication
o Update the project programme and plan on a daily basis
o Communicate progress on a weekly basis or when required
o Compile and communicate project status reports
o Report any project plan deviation or scope alternations to the MD and project owner
JOB COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills and Experience)
• Bcom or Industrial Engineering qualification
• Qualified in project management (PMBOK or similar)
• Microsoft project experience
• Experience in change management
• 3 years experience in project management
• Working experience in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel & Outlook)
