Learners all over Cape Town and the Western Cape came back to school today after a long Christmas break. With the classrooms filling up, you will also find FoodBank’s trucks going in and out of schools in Cape Town again. They are on a mission to support proper education for everyone. On our Lunch Buddy pilot program we manage to provide as much as 1440 children on a daily basis.

The first Annual FoodBank Cape Town Gala Dinner was held on Saturday, the 24th of October 2009 at the picturesque Old Mutual House in Bishopscourt.
16th November marks the United Nations (UN) sponsored International Day of Tolerance, highlighting the core values in the UN Charter: "to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, ... and for these ends to practise tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours." Refugees are among the most food insecure populations both globally and nationally, and hence an important area of focus for FoodBank South Africa.
