FoodBank celebrates World Cup

E-mail Print
Showing that it's not short of gees, FoodBank South Africa kicked off its World Cup football festivities in fine form with braais and staff parties at food banks countrywide. To get the competitive juices flowing, the company held a contest to award the food bank with the best team spirit. FoodBank PE spread the love by celebrating the occasion with children at the MTR Children's Home, lavishing the little ones with love and treats. Making the most of eThekwini's warm winter weather, FoodBank Durban had a quintessential laid-back South African braai under sunny skies. Down in the Mother City, FoodBank Cape Town had the mother of all parties, blowing their vuvuzelas (and budgets) at a fundraising white elephant auction. But it was FoodBank Johannesburg, kitted out in Bafana Bafana gear and singing up a storm, that stole the show, walking off with a R1000 KFC meal voucher. Well done, FoodBank SA for proving to be an awesome winning team!

“I have witnessed so much change in the learners. Their attendance has improved so much. The teachers are impressed with the learners’ achievements in class, ever since they started receiving the sandwiches they concentrate better in class."
