FoodBank South Africa are proud to announce their membership of The Global Foodbanking Network (GFN). This was confirmed at the board meeting of GFN held last week. The criteria for membership are stringent and having our application accepted will certainly send a strong message to our funders, food donors and other stakeholders e.g. government, that Foodbank South Africa conforms to international food bank management standards. GFN is dedicated to alleviating hunger around the world. Foodbank SA is recognised as being the leading organisation fighting food insecurity and hunger in our country. As a fully fledged member we will benefit from the experience GFN have gained in developing food banks across the world.
