Part of our role is to nurture foodbanks in all needy parts of South Africa. The thought of starting a foodbank and making it work may seem overwhelming. Nelson Mandela Day was launched in 2009 on Nelson Mandela’s birthday – 18th July – as a call to action for people everywhere to take responsibility for making the world a better place, one small step at a time, just as Nelson Mandela did.
